Escape from the city bustle and enjoy the exceptional breathtaking scenery of one of the most beautiful national parks in Croatia – National park Krka – in this self-guided half-day trip designed for those who wish to explore the natural wonders of the Krka Waterfalls at their own pace, without tour guides deciding what to see and for how long.
The journey starts at one of our arranged meeting points in Okrug Gornji or Trogir. In case of private tours the pick up can also take place directly at accommodation.
The first stop is a small mediterranean town called Skradin, situated at the entrance of National park Krka, famous for its medieval fortress of Turina and the tower clock from 1872. There is also a boat which goes regularly from Skradin directly to the national park, which we will take. We recommend that you take the boat right away upon arrival in Skradin and later after you return take your time to explore the narrow paved streets, passages and stairs in Skradin or try some of traditional dalmatian specialties in one of town’s many restaurants.
Half an hour long boat ride leads you to Skradinski buk, one of the most attractive parts of the National park and the lowest of the three sets of waterfalls formed along the Krka river, where you will have approximately 3,5 hours of free time to experience the best Krka Waterfalls have to offer. Visit the small traditional stone houses and watermills which are now transformed into ethno museums with various exhibits, wander along numerous wooden paths and trails overlooking the breathtaking flora and fauna and don’t miss a chance to swim among the beautiful travertine formations and waterfalls in the designated areas. After you’re done sightseeing, take the boat back to Skradin for the arranged pick up but don’t forget to take some time for a walk through this charming little town before we head back to the start point!
